Panic Attacks
OVERCOME PANIC ATTACKS
You CAN learn to manage Panic Attacks!
YOU can learn to take back control of your life!
Panic disorder is a condition in which a person has panic attacks without warning. According to the National Institutes of Mental Health, about 5% of the adult American population suffers from panic attacks. Some experts say that this number is actually higher, since many people experience panic attacks but never receive treatment.
However, in many instances, a panic attack becomes a trip to the Emergency Room, because is seems like a Heart Attack!! In fact, it is often difficult to tell the difference between a Panic Attach and a Heart Attack without extensive medical testing.
Common symptoms of panic include:
• Racing or pounding heart
• Trembling
• Sweaty palms
• Feelings of terror
• Chest pains or heaviness in the chest
• Dizziness and lightheadedness
• Fear of dying
• Fear of going crazy
• Fear of losing control
• Feeling unable to catch your breath
• Tingling in the hands, feet, legs, or arms
Really, all of the symptoms of a Heart Attack. Terrifying! If ever you think you are having a heart attack or a stroke…call 911. The most important factor in surviving a heart attack or a stroke is the speed of care! This is not the time to worry about being embarrassed later. It’s OK, the folks in the E.R. have seen it all.
A panic attack typically lasts several minutes or much longer and is extremely upsetting and frightening. In some cases, panic attacks can strike several times in a short time period.
A panic attack is often followed by feelings of depression and helplessness. Most people who have experienced panic say that the greatest fear is that the panic attack will happen again.
Many times, the person who has a panic attack doesn’t know what caused it. It seems to have come “out of the blue.” At other times, people report that they were feeling extreme stress or had encountered difficult times and weren’t surprised that they had a panic attack.
Regain Control
I take a holistic approach to easing the experience of anxiety. It isn’t just about popping pills…it’s
about learning skills.
You can learn the skills of using your brain in a different way, and that can make all the difference.
I teach a combination of Self-Hypnosis, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP, click here), Cognitive Behavior Techniques, Breathing, Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT, click here), and more. These are powerful technologies that can put you back in charge of your feelings, thoughts and actions.
You can learn to relax deeper than you have ever relaxed in your life.
This is short-term therapy. My goal is to teach you to manage your panic attacks yourself. If you have non-medical related sleep problems, we will work on that at the same time at no extra cost.
I always provide a consultation at no cost, in order to determine if hypnosis is right for you.
Call for an appointment now. I’ll get you in for a free consultation as soon as I can. Please feel free to call me, and we can discuss your needs and how Hypnotherapy might be useful. I’m always happy to personally talk with you.
P.S. When you come in for your free, no-obligation consultation, I’ll give you a copy of my CD, “Hypnosis for A Change”, as my way of saying “Thanks” for your interest in making a change in your life.
